In the last year and a half Jimmy Kimmel was on the front line for the attacks on President Trump during his TV show, on the Oscars, but now it appears he is changing things up. Аt least during his upcoming comedy which should be broadcasted on ABC.
According to Deadline, in an interview, Jimmy Kimmel was asked if he had ‘been saving up a barrelful [sic] of barbs for the President and his ongoing big show.’
Here’s what he responded:
‘Oh, wow. Yeah, you know, I hadn’t really thought about it that way, but I guess you’re right. Hopefully, it’ll be the last upfront of the Trump era, too. So, I don’t know, I don’t know how much focus there will be on that. I think people have had an a**-full of Donald Trump, and I feel like the upfront is a time to look within and make fun of ourselves.’
When he was asked whether it would be totally Trump-free, Jimmy responded that he ‘can’t image that it will be entirely Trump free,’ but definitely, President Donald Trump would not be the focus of his jokes.
‘Already I’m seeing a lot of other things to point out, to make fun of. We’re getting all sorts of new terminology that doesn’t seem to last one year to the next.’ Jimmy said.
Since Donald Trump became officially President of the United States of America in 2016, Jimmy Kimmel has frequently gone after him.
But President Trump was not the only one who was attacked by Jimmy, his family and his staff also got a few punches from time to time.
At one point, Jimmy Kimmel even mocked Melania’s accent, despite the fact that she speaks six different languages and English is not her native language.
Maybe Jimmy Kimmel finally realized that his jokes about President Trump have been alienating a good portion of the country.
