Chuck Schumer made an attempt to save himself from the backlash against his scandalous threats to Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
The backlash was swift and fierce so Schumer took the Senate floor and offered what all consider a half-assed apology.
He didn’t take responsibility for the threats but instead said he meant they would pay a price politically, not physically.
Worse for the hapless Senator from New York, he blamed the GOP for twisting and distorting his intent if not his words. You can see the threat and the apology in the videos below.
This is what Chuck said: “They’re taking away fundamental rights. I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind.”
“And you will pay the price! You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
Speaking at a rally of abortion rights supporters, Schumer appeared to threaten Kavanaugh and Gorsuch, President Trump’s two Supreme Court nominees who were confirmed after bruising nomination fights.
“I want to tell you Gorsuch. I want to tell you Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” Schumer said.
