President Trump Sends Powerful Message Of How Moms Are ‘America’s Strength’ in Heart-Warming Mother’s Day Address

This Sunday is a special day for many women in America. President Donald Trump wished Americans a happy Mother’s Day and shared a heartwarming message about how their “love and courage and devotion” has helped shape this great nation.

“Since the earliest days of our republic, America’s strength has come from the love and courage and devotion of our mothers,” said the President.

“They helped us gain our independence,” he continued. “Through their grit, determination and incredible spirit, they pioneered the West and settled the frontier. During World War II, America’s mothers helped build the greatest arsenal for democracy.”

President Trump also shared some thoughts about his own mother Mary MacLeod, who sadly passed away in 2000.

“I learned so much from my mother,” President Trump said. “She was just incredible. Warm, loving, really smart, could be tough if she had to be, but basically she was a really nice person.”

“So much of what I’ve done and so much of what I’ve become is because of my mother,” he added. “I miss her a lot.”

President Trump’s message comes after first lady Melania Trump shared her thoughts on the holiday during a White House event honoring military mothers and spouses just few days ago.

“Mother’s Day, which is this Sunday, is celebrated just one time per year. I don’t know about all of you, but I think mothers should be celebrated each and every day,” said the First Lady before continuing:

“As a mother myself, I know what goes into raising a child. It takes an incredible amount of strength, a lot of time, a generous amount of patience, and all of our love. As moms, we are so incredibly privileged to be able to bring children into this world and be a part of helping them grow into adults.”

“Because of the powerful bond between a mother and her child, when they feel emotions, so do we – whether they are happy or nervous, sad or excited, we feel those things with them,” she concluded. “I think it is one of the most powerful and beautiful parts of motherhood.”
