President Trump Shuts Down Ilhan Omar, Backs Call For An Investigation Into Spending

President Trump shut down Rep. Ilhan Omar and backed calls for an investigation into her spendthrift ways.

President Trump retweeted a political ally’s post, Charlie Kirk’s call to investigate Omar. Kirk said: “Did you know: Ilhan Omar’s campaign is on track to pay her husband’s consulting firm $1.16 MILLION in 2020. Last year, while she was having an affair with her now-husband she paid his firm $523K.”

“How is this legal? She’s funneling money back into her own pockets. Investigate!”

The New York Post reported that Rep. Ilhan Omar is on track to pay the political firm founded by her new husband more than $1 million by the end of the year, campaign finance filings show.

In the first 3 months of this year, Omar’s campaign paid the E Street Group $292,000 for advertising, fundraising, travel and other services, according to a federal campaign finance report filed Wednesday and obtained by the Star Tribune.

At that rate, the company would get $1.16 million from the Minnesota Democrat’s campaign in 2020 — more than double the $523,000 it received for the whole of last year.

The firm was founded by Omar’s longtime consultant Tim Mynett, allegedly a former lover whom she married last month. The congresswoman announced their nuptials on social media.

Their relationship attracted scrutiny in August, when The Post was first to report that Mynett’s then-wife, Beth, alleged in court papers that he walked out on their marriage after admitting to having an affair with Omar and declaring his love for her.

Both Rep. Omar and Mynett — who were each married to other people at the time — denied the affair.

The claim prompted a conservative watchdog group to file a complaint against Omar with the Federal Election Commission. The FEC has taken no public action in regard to the complaint.
