Robert De Niro Keeps On Attacking ‘Dumbbell’ POTUS – Now He Claims He Would Like To Handcuff The ‘Total Loser’

Few days before the release of special counsel Mueller’s report, which concluded that there was no connection between the Trump campaign and Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, actor Robert De Niro, who portrays Mueller on “Saturday Night Live,” claimed that he would like to act out President Trump being handcuffed on the show.

De Niro appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” which was recorded on Tuesday and aired on Friday, and discussed the then-coming final report with host Stephen Colbert, in which the actor noted it’s his “civic duty” to portray Mueller on “SNL.”

The actor, who has been a strong critic of President Trump, said that he hoped the report “goes further” but was unsure what would happen.

“I keep saying that I don’t know whether this is actually possible in reality, but where I can handcuff him and take him away in an orange jumpsuit,” he told Colbert.

Colbert asked the actor about giving President Trump a chance.

“You’re right, that’s what I said right after he was elected. ‘Give him a chance.’ I give everyone the benefit of the doubt,” De Niro said. “This guy has proven himself to be a total loser.”

Later during the show, the discussion of De Niro’s new film, “The Irishman,” which is a gangster-genre film, turned back into bashing the President again.

“It’s just that people like the outlaw-type thing except we have a wannabe gangster in the White House now,” the actor claimed in response to people favoring gangster-genre movies.

“He’s a dumbbell. […] Even gangsters have morals, and they have ethics, they have a code. And, you know, when you give someone your word, it’s your word because that’s all you have is your word — especially in that world. This guy, he doesn’t even know what that means.” he added.

The special counsel’s final report did not conclude any collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Russia. The investigators “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”

While the 22-month investigation has hovered over Trump’s presidency, he hasn’t let any of that affect the achievements Americans have noticed under his administration, including record-low unemployment rates and the revitalization of manufacturing jobs.
