Mike Pence Explains 2020 Election As Referendum On Socialism:’That’s The Choice We Face Today’

Vice President Mike Pence condemned the Green New Deal and the Democratic initiatives of Medicare for All and sought to frame the 2020 presidential campaign as a referendum on socialism.

“Under the guise of Medicare for All and a Green New Deal, Democrats are embracing the same tired economic theories that have impoverished nations and stifled the liberties of millions over the past century. That system is socialism,” said the Vice President, per his prepared remarks shared with The Daily Caller.

Vice President Mike Pence continued, “the truth is, we want people to make poor people richer, they want to make rich people poorer. We want to make poverty more rare; they want to make poverty more comfortable. That’s the choice we face today: between freedom and socialism, between personal responsibility and government dependence.”

The Vice President pointed out to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ candidacy, saying, “remarkably, a leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination is an avowed socialist.”

“And it’s not just him,” said Pence. “Bernie’s been joined by a chorus of candidates and newly elected officials who have papered over the failed policies of socialism with bumper-sticker slogans and slick social-media campaigns.”

Pence’s refrain comes days after he returned from a trip to South America, where the U.S. is trying to facilitate a transition of government in Venezuela.

The United States is confronting Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro and officially recognized National Assembly leader Juan Guaido as the legitimate leader of the country.

The Vice President has become one of the major forces within the administration shepherding Latin America policy. He announced new sanctions on the Venezuelan regime while in Bogota, Colombia and criticized the Maduro government for blocking humanitarian aid supplies.

Pence recalled one of President Trump’s Warsaw speech in which he queried whether “the West has the will to survive,” declaring “as we gather together here today, we must ask our movement the same question.”

As the president said that day, “Do we have confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy?”

Joe Biden Says ‘Major’ Republican Donors Want To Help Him Run Against Trump In 2020

This Tuesday, former Vice President Joe Biden stated that major Republican donors encouraged him to run as President against Donald Trump in 2020.

Biden said “the people who are usually the biggest donors in the Democratic Party” and “some major Republican folks” offered help and funds for his 2020 presidential campaign, which the former vice president is expected to launch in the near future.

Joe Biden made the comments during an event with historian Jon Meacham at the University of Delaware’s Biden School, where he was asked about his 2020 campaign.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, 76, strongly indicated he was going to run for president in 2020, which he said was the “consensus” among his children and grandchildren.

“I’m certain about where the family is, but the second piece is that I don’t want this to be a fool’s errand and I want to make sure that if we do this, and we’re very close to getting to a decision, that I am fully prepared to do it,” said Biden.

Biden pointed out that social media may be a potential challenge for him, which he said has “fundamentally changed” since he last ran for office in 2012, but indicated that tech insiders are helping him to adjust.

Biden said that he has been getting “briefings” from “the most advanced people in the country who run these major platforms and telling us what we need, and the organizational structure we need, and it’s a massive, massive undertaking.”

“We also are making a decision on whether or not we can fund this campaign on my conditions, because I will not be part of a super PAC, or accept … ” said Joe Biden as the audience interrupted with applause, “and to see whether or not it’s realistic,” he finished.

“An awful lot of people have offered to help, and the people who are usually the biggest donors in the Democratic Party and, I might add, some major Republican folks,” he noted.
