The View Mercilessly Mocks ‘Spartacus’ And Beto O’Rourke For Pandering In Spanish During The Debate

The View, the longtime liberal show just turned on two Democratic front-runners. Cory ‘Spartacus’ Booker and Beto O’Rourke were mercilessly mocked for pandering by speaking Spanish.

It’s true that last night was embarrassing for the Democrats for many reasons. They will need to do much better to have shot at President Trump in 2020.

The Washington Examiner reported that “The View” hosts weighed in on the 2020 Democratic presidential debates, roasting Beto O’Rourke, Sen. Cory Booker, and Julián Castro for their attempts to speak in Spanish during the debate.

“The debates seemed to quickly go viral. Folks start speaking Spanish. Señor Beto O’Rourke was working it,” Whoopi Goldberg joked.

“I thought Trump was going to deport him,” Joy Behar joked after they played a clip of the Texas congressman speaking Spanish. “Wow, you’re going south.”

“To me it was a little bit pandering, off the top,” Joy Behar added, to which Meghan McCain agreed.

Sunny Hostin also stated that Beto is fluent in Spanish but said “his accent isn’t great.” Joy Behar added that it was a “high school” accent.

Hostin started laughing at Castro, who is Hispanic, after she said he was not fluent in Spanish.

The hosts then made fun of Cory Booker who glared at Beto O’Rourke when the former Texas congressman started speaking Spanish.

“It’s kind of, ‘What the hell,’” Goldberg said of Booker’s glare.

“I think Cory was like, ‘You took my moment, man. I was about to break out my Spanish,” Hostin said. “That’s exactly what happened,” McCain agreed.

The Spanish moment by the 3 candidates come as the trio struggle to poll about the low single digits or in the case of Castro, less than 1% according to RealClearPolitics. The second part of the first Democratic presidential debate is Thursday night on MSNBC.
