Trevor Noah Claims Trump Is The First U.S. President To ‘Actually Deliver’ On Promises

Trevor Noah said that President Trump is the first candidate to “actually deliver” on his promises — not that he’s going to be donning a “Make America Great Again” hat anytime soon.

The message came during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and what made it all even more surprising — no, Kimmel did not break down in tears.

Interestingly, Trevor Noah spoke about how Oprah Winfrey took control of his show when she appeared as a quest, explaining how she “walks around the building telling people how it’s going to go,” without realizing how this reflects on him.

After shameless mutual groveling over how great Oprah is, the conversation would eventually work around to President Donald Trump.

Noah expressed his concern about abortions “being criminalized in Alabama,” before he referenced when he first took over for Jon Stewart in 2015.

“One of the main things people said to me was, ‘You’re just not angry enough, Trevor. Where’s your indignation?’” Noah said, before praising President Barack Obama.

“But what do you have to be angry about?” he added. “Things are going great right now. Your economy is growing, your president is loved. There’s nothing to be angry about, there’s nothing to be stressed about right now.”

All of which would change in November 2016, according to Noah.

“Then, when Donald Trump was elected and proceeded to do the things that he had promised,” he said.

“Ironically, because it’s funny that Donald Trump would be the first presidential candidate to actually deliver, Noah continued. “Hate him or love him, he’s doing the things he said he was going to do.”

All of which has given his show a “purpose.”

The greater irony is how so many American voters are willing to accept politicians promising the moon just to get elected, only to abandon those promises when taking office.

Keeping his promises seems to be a high priority for President Donald Trump, and as the Washington Post’s Marc A. Thiessen detailed last year, the President is making good on many of them.
