Americans can rightfully expect the Democratic Party to be biased as they conducted a kangaroo court to impeach President Trump, it’s also normal to see CNN openly display a similar bias.
CNN all but gave the Dems wall-to-wall coverage of their one-sided impeachment hearings, but the network had no interest in extending that same courtesy to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, who held a hearing on Wednesday featuring Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz.
Horowitz just released his report on FISA warrant abuse that found 17 “significant errors or omissions” on the part of the FBI while investigating the Trump campaign, to include doctoring an email to make former Trump adviser Carter Page appear to be a Russian spy.
CNN aired Horowitz’s statement live but did not carry Graham’s opening remarks.
RNC rapid response director Steve Guest didn’t wait long to hit back and took to Twitter to call out the network.
“After giving their air time COMPLETELY over to Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff for the past few weeks, CNN IS NOT AIRING the start of the Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on Horowitz’s IG report,” Guest tweeted.
RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel also responded to the tweet by asking CNN opted why didn’t they air Graham’s opening statement.
The condemnation came heavy and hard, as the blatant bias of the network was impossible to ignore.
As for what Graham had to say, the South Carolina Republican took the media to task for their bias in covering the IG report.
“Crossfire Hurricane was probably the best name ever given to an investigation in the history of investigations because I think that’s what we wound up with, a crossfire and a hurricane,” Graham stated. “There has been a lot of media reports about your report before it was issued, and I remember reading all these headlines: ‘Lawful investigation with a few irregularities,’ ‘Everything okay, low-level people kind of got off track.’ If that’s what you get out of this report, you clearly didn’t read it.”
“If that’s your takeaway that this thing was lawfully predicated, and that’s the main point, you missed the entire report. How do you get a headline like that? That’s what you want it to be. You want it to be that and nothing more,” he continued. “And I can assure you, if this had been a Democratic president going through what President Trump had gone through, that would not have been the headline. The headline would be, ‘The FBI takes law into its own hands: Biased agents cut corners, lie to the court, ignore exoneration.’”
