GOP Senator Has a Lot To Say About Joe Biden’s “You Ain’t Black” Comment

Senator Tim Scott joined a chorus of voices condemning presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for “arrogant” comments he made during a radio interview.

The GOP senator from South Carolina blasted the former vice president on the “condescending” declaration he made in an interview with Charlamagne tha God, co-host of “The Breakfast Club” radio show. Scott spoke on Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.” on Friday about Biden’s latest controversial statement.

Biden came under fire on Friday for saying members of the black community who have a “problem figuring out” whether to vote for him or President Trump in November “ain’t black.” The Dems faced huge backlash as his surrogates and members of his campaign scrambled to put out the fire.

“Wow,” Sen. Scott said in reaction.

“That is the most condescending, arrogant comment I’ve heard for a very long time. And that’s saying something,” the lawmaker told Fox Business host Stuart Varney, pointing out Biden’s history.

“The man who sponsored and led the charge on the 1990’s crime bill that locked up more African-American males than any other piece of legislation,” he said.

“And President Trump comes along, and through his criminal justice reform, corrects the absolute mistakes made by Joe Biden, for him to make such an arrogant, ridiculous comment,” he added.

“If you think about the numbers, 1.3 million African-Americans voted for Trump. He’s saying to 1.3 million African-Americans that you’re not black?” Scott asked. “Who in the heck does he think he is? That is the most arrogant, outrageous comment that I’ve heard in a very long time and I take offense to that.”

In a tweet about Biden’s interview, Scott said it was “par for the course for Democrats to take the black community for granted.”

The hashtag #YouAintBlack began trending on Twitter as did others aimed at Biden’s comments.
