Joe Biden conceded in an interview with Jake Tapper that President Trump’s renegotiated trade deal, USMCA, is better than NAFTA.
Both Biden and Obama had promised to renegotiate NAFTA, as Jake Tapper pointed out in a longer version of the interview.
As the clip begins Tapper is pushing Joe Biden on the USMCA saying “[Trump] renegotiated NAFTA and you didn’t, is the point.”
Biden responded by blaming the fact that he and Ex-President Obama had a Republican Congress that wouldn’t go along with them on any renegotiation.
Tapper just glares at Biden for a second and then asks “But doesn’t he deserve some credit for that? It’s better, The USMCA is better than NAFTA.”
That’s when Joe Biden makes the next Trump ad, saying “It is better than NAFTA…” And we know Biden’s entire campaign cringed when he said that.
Biden went on to claim he was ‘against’ NAFTA, even though he voted for it, and blamed Bush for changing the deal or something.
But that’s a garbage answer because Trump, who had a Democrat Congress full of haters who tried to impeach him, still found a way to negotiate with them to agree to the USMCA.
Biden’s answer makes clear that he doesn’t have what it takes to work with the other side.
