Jerry Nadler and his kangaroo impeachment court was an absolute embarrassment and the Democrats should be ashamed. They were booed by everyone and it would be extremely difficult to find one person who thought they did a good job yesterday.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi for one was so furious and she ripped Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler and the committee behind closed doors yesterday with these fateful words: “go ahead and leak this.”
Pelosi went off for a bit and then simply said on Jerry Nadler’s impeachment attempt: “we don’t have the votes.”
Nancy Pelosi knows she does not have the votes and she will never, ever, bring a bill up for a vote unless she knows she is going to win.
Say what you will about Nancy Pelosi but when she has power in the House she doesn’t lose much. But tragically for the left – If Pelosi is the voice of reason you are doomed indeed.
Politico reported that in a closed-door meeting last week, Nancy Pelosi stunned lawmakers and aides with a swipe at Democratic staff on the House Judiciary Committee.
She criticized the panel’s handling of impeachment in harsh terms, complaining committee aides have advanced the push for ousting President Trump far beyond where the House Democratic Caucus stands. Democrats simply do not have the votes on the floor to impeach President Trump, Pelosi said.
“And you can feel free to leak this,” Nancy Pelosi added, according to multiple people in the room. Pelosi’s office declined to comment on the meeting.
It was the latest sign of the widening schism between Nancy Pelosi and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, two longtime allies who are increasingly in conflict over where to guide the party at one of its most.
