Dem. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was cheered by Twitter leftists for fat-shaming President Trump after saying he shouldn’t take hydroxychloroquine because he’s “morbidly obese.”
Pelosi trashed the President while discussing Trump’s revelation that he has been taking hydroxychloroquine for almost two weeks to prevent getting the coronavirus.
Many physicians have said that many front-line medical workers take hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic (preventative measure) before they start their hospital shifts.
Pelosi, 80, then fat-shamed Trump, 73.
Keep in mind that liberals have trashed President Trump for fat-shaming comedian Rosie O’Donnell (who got weight-loss surgery because she was morbidly obese). But the left’s constant fat-shaming of Trump is perfectly acceptable and encouraged.
“I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists [at the FDA], especially in his age group, and in his, shall we say, weight group — which is morbidly obese,” Pelosi said. “So I think it’s not a good idea.”
For the record, hydroxychloroquine was approved by the scientists at the FDA to treat malaria in 1955. That’s more than 65 years ago. It is also widely used to treat the auto-immune diseases lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
Hydroxychloroquine has not yet been approved by the FDA to treat COVID-19, but many physicians have successfully treated coronavirus patients with the drug.
Moreover, many nurses and doctors on the front lines take hydroxychloroquine as a preventative measure so they don’t get infected while treating COVID-19 patients.
Later during a press conference, President Trump was asked by a reporter to respond to Nancy Pelosi’s attack on him, and he blasted her without even losing his cool.
