Chris Mathews Out Of MSNBC For His Creepy Behavior After The Liberal Network Goes Through Shakeup

Chris Mathews is out at MSNBC after his creepy behavior was exposed. Mathews made numerous gaffes completely embarrassing the liberal network.

“In 2016, right before I had to go on his show and talk about sexual-assault allegations against Donald Trump, Matthews looked over at me in the makeup chair next to him and said, ‘Why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet,’” Laura Bassett wrote in GQ Friday that helped bring down Mathews.

“When I laughed nervously and said nothing, he followed up to the makeup artist. ‘Keep putting makeup on her, I’ll fall in love with her,’” she added.

“Another time, he stood between me and the mirror and complimented the red dress I was wearing for the segment. ‘You going out tonight?’ he asked. I said I didn’t know, and he said — again to the makeup artist — ‘Make sure you wipe this off her face after the show. We don’t make her up so some guy at a bar can look at her like this,’” Bassett also added.

“I’m pretty sure that behavior doesn’t rise to the level of illegal sexual harassment,” she said. “But it undermined my ability to do my job well. And after I published a story about it, even though I didn’t name him, dozens of people reached out to say they knew exactly who it was.”

CNN also reported that Chris Matthews, one of the country’s best-known political talk show hosts, is retiring from MSNBC, effective immediately, after a string of recent controversies on and off the air.

Matthews made the announcement on Monday night’s “Hardball,” the cable news show he has hosted for more than 20 years.

Matthews, 74, has been a staple of MSNBC’s political coverage almost since the cable channel launched in the mid 1990s. Through all of the channel’s changes, he has been a familiar face.

But lately he has been in the news for all the wrong reasons — for likening the Bernie Sanders campaign to the Nazis, for misidentifying an African American politician, and for allegedly making sexist comments to a guest.

When Sanders took an early lead in the Nevada caucuses last month, Matthews likened the moment to Nazi Germany invading France during World War II. Aides to Sanders, a Jewish presidential candidate, expressed shock at the analogy.

Verbal gaffes by Matthews have also caused embarrassment within MSNBC.
