CNN’s Brian Stelter accused President Trump of using a “performative show of strength” as he left Walter Reed medical facility.
“It’s not a real show of strength but it’s a performative show of strength,” Stelter argued.
“This is what strong men do in autocratic regimes…” he added.
“Meanwhile, there are big questions about the coverup…We moved from this possibly being a coverup to actually being a coverup.”
In a later segment, Stelter argues “the President is trying to portray himself as a winner against a deadly virus but it is the virus that is in charge.”
After spending three nights at the Walter Reed medical center, President Trump returned on Monday evening to the White House, where he will continue to receive treatment for Covid-19.
His physician, Dr. Sean P. Conley, had said earlier in the day that the president was not “out of the woods yet.”
