Alveda King Rips Obama’s Speech At Lewis Funeral: “Wordplay” That Takes Us Back To Segregated 60’s

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter blasted Ex-President Barack Obama for the wordplay in his eulogy for Congressman John Lewis, saying he took the nation back to the segregated 60s.

While Obama couldn’t summon enough courage to speak President Trump’s name, there was no mistaking his criticism of the president in what sounded more like a stump speech than a eulogy.

As arrogant and divisive as ever, the former president used the occasion to push the myth of voter suppression.

“Even as we sit here, there are those in power who are doing their darnedest to discourage people from voting by closing polling locations, by targeting minorities and students with restrictive ID laws, and attacking our voting rights with surgical precision, even undermining the Postal Service in the run-up to an election that’s going to be dependent on mail-in ballots so people don’t get sick,” he proclaimed.

Never mind that mourners packed many of the pews at Ebenezer Baptist Church, in Atlanta, Ga.

Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt showed a video of those comments, which she said “sounded more like a campaign event or a rally,” before asking King to comment.

“Well, I guess we should have expected that the left, including President Obama, would take that occasion for a political moment,” King said.

“They’ll grab at any opportunity, that’s to be understood. I have chosen not to politicize the death of Congressman Lewis, but to remember him as a peaceful, nonviolent warrior and encourage everyone to resolve our conflicts peacefully.”

“However, President Obama, with wordplay, took us back to 1960’s and that was a time when segregation was still on the books, segregation was still legal, and those in power, some of them, were trying to enforce that and keep that,” she added.

King also noted that there is a “totally distinct difference” between what took place in the 60s and the efforts today to protect communities from violent rioters, who people on the left, to include Obama in his eulogy, characterize as “peaceful protesters.”

As for the voter suppression narrative, King rejected it altogether.

“Also, implying without calling any names, he was very clever not to call any names, saying that there was an effort to undermine the voting process,” she said. “You know, actually President Trump is saying, ‘People, please pay attention, we do want you to vote. Use your absentee ballots, go to the polls.’”

“President Trump is not trying to suppress the vote,” King said.

“As a matter of fact, you can see in my community, I’m telling everybody, ‘Make sure you vote, register to vote. Pastors and leaders, encourage your people to vote.’ We do want people to vote safely and we need the voting process to be fair.”

In the end, she dismissed Obama’s eulogy as little more than political grandstanding.

“And so to politicize the funeral of a peaceful warrior, I mean, I guess they grabbed at an opportunity to be political,” she said.

Jim Jordan Rips Dr. Fauci On Whether Protests Should Be Limited Over COVID Transmission

This morning, Rep. Jim Jordan grilled Dr. Fauci on whether protests should be limited over the transmission of the COVID virus.

In a nutshell, Dr. Fauci wouldn’t go near making any statement or recommendation specifically about the protests that are raveging in the United States.

He would only say, generally speaking, that the coronavirus spreads in crowds.

The reason Rep. Jordan grilled Dr. Fauci on this line of questioning is because we are seeing, especially in Democrat states and cities, that protests are given an exemption while all other gatherings, including church services, are being shut down.

Rep. Jordan has been arguing that he simply wants to see consistency on the issue, that if we are going to tell people that they can’t go to church these protests must also be held to the same standard.

Despite making recommendations in the past, Dr. Fauci simply wouldn’t make a judgement on protests.

Maybe he knows that if he did the left would dislike him as much as some on the right.

Obama Goes After President Trump During George Floyd Protests At John Lewis’ Funeral

Former President Barack Obama trashed President Trump in his speech Thursday at the funeral for Democratic Georgia Rep. John Lewis, criticizing his successor’s handling of the George Floyd protests.

Obama highlighted the President’s decision to send federal agents to Portland, saying they used “tear gas and batons against peaceful demonstrators,” as well as Trump’s opposition to increased funding for the postal service given how necessary it may be on November 3rd.

“Even as we sit here there are those in power who are doing their darnedest to discourage people from voting by closing polling locations, and targeting minorities and students with restrictive I.D. laws, and attacking our voting rights with surgical precision, even undermining the postal service in the run-up to an election that’s gonna be dependent on mail-in ballots so people don’t get sick,” Obama said.

Obama’s speech came shortly after President Trump suggested the possibility of delaying the election in a tweet on Thursday morning. However, even Trump’s allies on Capitol Hill quickly shot down the idea.

Republican Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell said the November 3rd election date is set in stone.

“Never in the history of this country, through wars, depressions and the Civil War, have we ever not had a federally scheduled election on time,” he said Thursday.

“We will find a way to do that again this November 3rd. We will cope with whatever the situation is and have the election on November 3rd as already scheduled.”

Ingraham Shoves Leftist Host Maddow Out Of Top Spot – Becomes Most Watched Female TV Host

Fox News host Laura Ingraham has taken over this year as the most-watched female cable news host.

The host of The Ingraham Angle at 10 p.m. on weeknights since October 2017 has experienced a large boost in ratings in 2020, and it has propelled her past other female hosts, including MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who had been the most-watched.

Every single month since December 2019, Ingraham has beaten Maddow in nightly audience size, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, during that same time frame, Ingraham’s monthly ratings never dropped below 3 million viewers a night, which is a marker she had never topped prior to this stretch. Ingraham similarly topped Maddow in the key 25-54 age demographic, which is coveted by advertisers, during the same time.

Ingraham espouses opinions that are usually opposed to those of Maddow, a liberal who often dedicates her show to criticizing President Trump and his administration.

Maddow’s nightly audiences beat out those drawn in by Ingraham for much of 2017-2019, which covered a period that included the Trump-Russia investigation and the Trump impeachment fight. But Ingraham’s ratings have skyrocketed this year, as have the other prime-time hosts at Fox News.

The divide between Ingraham and Maddow was particularly prominent in the first three months of the year when Ingraham eclipsed 3 million nightly viewers, but Maddow never did.

Maddow has since bounced back with average audience sizes ranging from 3.01 million-3.3 million viewers but still trails. Ingraham beat out Maddow in July by less than 100,000 average viewers, which is the closest Maddow has been to Ingraham since she last led the Fox News host in November.

“I am so proud to be working with this Ingraham Angle team of talented producers, technical directors, and editors,” Ingraham told the Washington Examiner.

“We are all grateful to our sponsors and our loyal viewers, who trust us to analyze our politics and culture during these challenging and exciting times. What we’ve been able to do at 10 o’clock is truly remarkable, and the record ratings are humbling,” she added. “Resting on our laurels is something we don’t do, however, so it’s onward and upward!”

CNN doesn’t have a female host in its prime-time lineup. MSNBC recently added Joy Reid, who hosts The ReidOut, which drew in 2.6 million viewers in its premiere episode.

Ingraham’s coverage this year has focused on the upcoming election and the pandemic, along with the news of the day. She has repeatedly questioned the doctors and leaders of the country who are navigating the country through the pandemic.

Women Dem Reps Go After AG Barr – Accuse Him Of Being Sexist, Disrespectful & “Hostile Witness” At Hearing

Though Democrats repeatedly disrespected Attorney General Bill Barr when he testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, in their eyes they’re the victims.

After the hearing, multiple female Democrats — some of the rudest ones too, ironically enough — rushed to far-left outlets like MSNBC to weep and gnash their teeth.

“You saw his affect yesterday. He was disrespectful, spoke over top of every one of us, in particular he spoke over women,” one of those Democrats, truth-averse Pennsylvania Rep. Madeleine Dean, whined on MSNBC early Wednesday morning.

“He was flanked by at least 10 staffers, not a person of color among them, and he couldn’t identify that we have systemic racism in this country.”

“Maybe that’s because he’s living in a bubble. I just have to tell you, it was so disrespectful the way he approached Congress, the way he approached our committee,” she added.

Many folks, however, would agree that it was Democrats who were disrespectful and kept speaking over AG Barr.

As of Thursday morning, every tweet posted by Dean within the past 24h was ratioed, with critics pouncing on her for the disrespect she’d shown.

“I realize you have to feign outrage while questioning AG Barr to appease your base and your donors, but a lot of former Dems like me are disgusted. You acted insane,” one user wrote.

“I saw one of your interviews about Barr talking over everyone. A bunch of BS! You forget we the people watched the whole clown show! All of you wouldn’t let him answer a question! Every time he tried to speak..the chorus said “I’m reclaiming my time!”” Wrote another.

Trump Calls For Delay To 2020 US Election

On Thursday, President Trump floated delaying November’s presidential election lending extraordinary voice to persistent concerns that he would seek to circumvent voting in a contest where he currently trails his opponent by double digits.

The President posted a tweet Thursday morning, coming 96 days before the election, and offered the suggestion because he is afraid that the contest will be flawed.

“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA,” President Trump wrote.

“Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???” Trump questioned.

Trump’s campaign stated that the President was offering a query.

“The President is just raising a question about the chaos Democrats have created with their insistence on all mail-in voting,” campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley said.

“They are using coronavirus as their means to try to institute universal mail-in voting, which means sending every registered voter a ballot whether they asked for one or not,” he added.

Attorney General William Barr said that he has “no reason to think” that the upcoming election will be “rigged,” but he also said that he believes that “if you have wholesale mail-in voting, it substantially increases the risk of fraud.”

“Screw Anybody” Who Has A “Problem With That” – Steelers Player Declares He Will Not Kneel For Anthem

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt said this week that he will not be taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem at National Football League games. Why? Because his grandmother immigrated to America and set his family up for success.

“I’m not kneeling for the flag and screw anybody who have a problem with that,” Tuitt wrote on Twitter.

“My grandmother was a immigrant from the Caribbean and age worked her ass off to bring 20 people over the right way,” he said. “She had no money and educated herself to be a nurse. She living good now.”

Athletes making millions of dollars playing sports have been kneeling all over — at MLB and NBA games, The NFL, where the practice began, is expected to see the protest move, too.

But some athletes are not joining in. Sam Coonrod of the San Francisco Giants last week refused to take a knee during Black Lives Matter event in Dodger Stadium, saying his Christian faith means he doesn’t kneel before anyone other than God. But he has other problems with the BLM movement as well.

“I just can’t get on board with a couple things I’ve read about Black Lives Matter, how they lean towards Marxism. And … they said some negative things about the nuclear family,” he said. “I just can’t get on board with that.”

Then there’s Mike Ditka.

The former NFL player and coach of the Chicago Bears, Ditka this week made clear how he feels about the practice of players kneeling during the national anthem.

“If you can’t respect our national anthem, get the hell out of the country,” Ditka said, according to TMZ Sports.

“That’s the way I feel. Of course, I’m old fashioned, so I’m only going to say what I feel.”

“You don’t protest against the flag and you don’t protest against this country who’s given you the opportunities to make a living playing a sport that you never thought would happen,” he said. “So, I don’t want to hear all the crap.”

AG Barr Goes Off On Democrat After He Cuts Him Off Over & Over: “I’m Answering The Damn Question, That Is Why I’m Here”

Attorney General William Barr shot back at Rep. Joe Neguse during congressional testimony Tuesday, saying, “I’m going to answer the damn question,” when Neguse continually cut him off.

AG Barr was asked by Neguse, a Colorado Democrat, to affirm under oath a statement he made earlier that the White House fully cooperated with the Mueller investigation to which AG Barr said he believed the statement to be true at the time and was cut off by Neguse when he attempted to elaborate.

“You said under penalty of perjury, I’m going to answer the damn question,” AG Barr responded.

AG Barr was often interrupted by Democratic House Judiciary Committee members during the hearing with the phrase “reclaiming my time,” which appeared to frustrate the attorney general and Republican members of the committee.

“I don’t think we’ve ever had a hearing where the witness wasn’t allowed to respond to points made, questions asked, and attacks — attacks made. Not just in this hearing, not just in this committee, but in every committee I’ve been on,” Rep. Jim Jordan said at one point.

“Particularly when you think about the fact that we have the attorney general of the United States here,” Jordan added.

“I want the attorney general to be able to have enough time to respond to accusations and questions asked him, and you guys not cut him off.”

Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler called Jordan’s comment “irrelevant” and called out Rep. Jordan for “rudeness” during the hearing to which Jordan responded, “Rudeness is on the other side. Time after time, you refused to let the attorney general of the United States answer the questions posed to him.”

At another point in the hearing, after being cut off by Democratic Rep. Lou Correa, Barr wondered aloud why he wasn’t being heard at a hearing.

“This is a hearing. I thought I was the one who was supposed to be heard,” Barr said.

Pelosi Body-Shames AG Barr – Calls Him a “Blob” On Live TV: He’s Trump’s Henchmen With No Dignity

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that AG William Barr acted like a “blob” and a “henchman” of President Trump during his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee.

The California Democrat denied her own comments could lead to violent consequences when she was asked Tuesday to respond to AG Barr saying it was possible that her comparison of federal law enforcement to “storm troopers,” an allusion to Nazi paramilitary forces, could place officers in danger.

“I never heard him say anything about Rudy Giuliani when he said they were like storm troopers when they went into Michael Cohen, was it his home, or one of his other henchmen said that the law enforcement were like the Gestapo when they went into one of the other of the president’s henchmen’s place,” she said.

“I said they acted like storm troopers, and they did. And my colleagues have said that as well,” Pelosi told MSNBC.

“He should be answering for what he did at Lafayette Square, a disgrace,” Pelosi later added.

“So this — it’s really — he was like a blob. He was like just a henchman for the president of the United States instead of the attorney general of the United States of America.”

Pelosi said that AG Barr’s testimony was “despicable” and “beneath the dignity of an attorney general.” The speaker also suggested that Barr’s behavior was criminal.

“He is there to support the president, Donald Trump, no matter what. He’s not the president’s lawyer. That was Michael Cohen, and you know what happened to him,” Pelosi said.
